Text of the abstract

Transplantation is one of the great achievements of modern medicine, whereby organs of cadaver or living donors will be translplanted into recipients, whose organs have been impaired irreversible, severe and the lesions would lead without intervention to death. Psychiatric assessment occurs prior to transplantation, and it is also known that after the transplant interventions often develop psychiatric complications.
The aim of our research is the further investigation of the psychiatric aspects of transplant medicine in collaboration with the Semmelweis University Transplant Surgery staff.
Among pre-transplanted patients are alcohol use disorders, depression and anxiety frequent comorbidities. During our research we’re planning to install psychiatric diagnostic interviews, which could supplement the ongoing survey at the Semmelweis University Transplant Surgery Clinic. Following the transplant the patients will be monitored for postoperative delirium, depression and psycho-organic syndrome. The data will statistically analyzed after summarization.
By comparing of the questionnaire and interview techniques we could conclude if patients belonging to risk groups who require closer psychiatric follow-up during the transplant process could be filtered out through hand out and simply filled out questionnaires in expectation of reducing complications following transplantation, organ rejections and thus improving survival.
